The ACTS OF THE APOSTLES is read during Easter because it describes how the church started.  The most momentous event was the conversion of Paul.  Today we hear how difficult it was for the first Christians to believe that the man who had persecuted them now wanted to join them.  The GOSPEL has a difficult image today of Jesus as the True Vine.  In this country we don’t know much about how vines grow but we know they need to be well rooted.  We should be rooted in Jesus.
